Haripriya mata bestowing her love and mercy to pilgrims, to the delight of children
Maha shivaratree 2009 has known something new this time. Indeed pilgrims making the journey to Ganga Talao were very pleasantly surprised. They were able to have the darshan of mother cow. Haripriya mata and little Radhika showered their mercy upon us unfortunate mauritians who cannot have the darshan of Go mata everyday. one is supposed to have the darshan of mother cow everyday in the morning.

Well Haripriya mata benefitted the masses of devotees by her auspicious presence for four days while little naughty Radhika came to join us on the last day. Many people eagerly came to have this rare darshan while devotees were singing vibrant kirtans with kartalas, mrdanga and jhambe. Another group of devotees were going on preaching. Preaching on cow protection was going on in full swing. Some of the Iskcon Youth forum joined us for a while in some real good kirtans while some devotees of the chaitanya math also participated in singing the glories of Sri Sri radha Krsna and mother cow.

Bhakta Viraj glorifying mother cow
It was really some tapasya for these four days going on relentlessly singing kirtans and preaching to people. It was just another tentative to preach cow protection to the masses and it was very successful. Many people acknowledged that cow protection is a must. why should we protect cows? A simple analogy can be made to illustrate this. Our biological mother can provide us milk for only up to 3 years and who gives you milk for the rest of your life? .....OFCOURSE the COW. Now how does she become our mother just by giving us milk?

People were happy to have darshan of and to touch Haripriya mata
Basically milk is the transformation of blood. We have a special relationship with the one who feeds us with her milk or you might say her blood. this is the reason why mother is given a special place int he life of any individual. Just think, a human mother feeds only her child with her milk whereas mother cow produces milk but does not reserve it only for her child but she is so compassionate that she allows us to take her milk to feed ourselves.

Radhika ki Jay
Such is the glory of Go mata and what do we people do? Drink her milk while she is still capable of producing milk and once she becomes old....sell her to the butcher, mercilessly killed. this is the reward for her compassion...WOW what a civilised human society we are!!!!!!
Unfortunately in my view this is no human society but a dog society or as Srila prabhupada woud phrase it a rascal's society.
What does Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (an incarnation of Sri Krsna) teach us. Cow gives us milk so she is our mother and bulls are father to us for he works the land to enable us to cultivate food and grains. So what should we do? We must protect cows actively! Some rascals would say that we cannot save all cows going to be killed so it isn't worth saving some. These people are so foolish that they are trying to evade the essential fact...that they are as we say napunsak or impotent. Your mother is going to be killed and you are sitting idly watching the scene.

Cows are gentle, loving and playful. Associate with them to advance spiritually
Those who are intelligent and wise will ponder upon this while those of whom are foolish and rascals will try to evade by giving lame excuses. Become human!
Those who think that they have been sitting Idly for so much time and now wish to do something to serve and protect cows and bulls, kindly contact us.
As always, Cow seva was as blissful and joyful as ever since it is direct service to Lord Krsna.
